In negotiations earlier this week in Mexico City between President-Elect Donald Trump and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, Trump agreed to have Mexican workers help build the planned border wall. Trump's fiery rhetoric during the election has many citizens from both nations worried. One of the most controversial of Trump's planned policies was building a wall on the border between the United States and Mexico.
President Nieto offered that some of the Mexican companies would help with the construction of the wall. Trump, being the businessman that he is, obliged, saying “we need to make deals and we need to be efficient” in a press conference after the negotiations.
This decision was received well by the Democrats and the Republicans. Governor Chris Christie stated that “using the cheap Mexican labor will lower the cost of the wall. This way U.S. citizens would have to pay less taxes towards building such a monumental project.”
Hillary Clinton, the defeated Democratic nominee, believes that this will become a new dawn of cooperation between the United States and Mexico. With the progress that the negotiations and talks of the wall are progressing, The Trump Wall is becoming less of a dream and more of a reality.
