At around 2:40PM EST, millions of people around the country watched the solar eclipse, including President Trump.

In this image, Trump is seen defying his advisors yet again, by staring directly into the sun.

As Trump stared into the sun, a group of aides shouted “Don’t look”, according to a reporter from the Wall Street Journal.

When The American Tribune spoke with Donald J. Trump regarding this decision, Trump acknowledged that multiple scientists warned against looking directly into the sun. However, he dismissed all these reports as “fake news”.

“These ‘scientists’ keep telling us, ‘don’t look at the sun’. What’s the harm? It’s completely dark during an eclipse”, he told The American Tribune. “Another case of lying liberal media!”

Trump is partially correct, as it is only safe to look directly at the sun during a full solar eclipse when the sun is fully covered. However, Washington, D.C. is not on the path of totality. Thus, Trump saw only a partial eclipse, which did not fully block the sun’s rays.
